Baby Blankie for beginners SKILL LEVEL: Easy MATERIALS Baby Yarn : 250 g of white colour – 50 g of light pink – 50 g blue – 50 g of Fushia pink – 50 g of light green (or the colours you want…. To realize this baby blanket, wich is very simple and very quick to realise, you need 5 colours of yarn. Colours that match each other So I have baby colours, blue, green, light pink white and Darker pink (fuschia) And white colour for the base of the blanket I use a 3.5 mm crochet hook and a yarn 3/4 (french sizes) For the base of the blanket, you choose the size, but you need about 4/5 balls of white colour (50 g – 199 meters) to do the same as me. For the other colors, a little of each is enough, so 1ball of 50 g (199 meters) We will start with the white color : chain an odd number of stitches You choose the desired width When you have the required size, we are going to start Row 1: Work 1 Double Crochet in 5th ch from hook Hope it’s ok for you. 1 2 3 4 st, a double crochet in the 5° stitch Chain 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 Double Crochet, chain 1, skip 1 ST, 1 Double Crochet…. and do the same till the end of the row : chain 1, skip 1 ST, 1 Double Crochet, chain 1, skip 1 ST, 1 DC … At the end of the row, we have to change the yarn for the last stich. Do the last double crochet, but not entirely. Cut the yarn, 5 centimeters lower Take the colour you want And chain 1 with the pink colour (let out of 5 cm of yarn) to finish the last Double Crochet That’s what you have, chain 2 and turn Do a single crochet between each double crochet of the last row Chain 1, one Single Crochet, chain 1, 1 SC in each DC of the last row I show you this tutorial on a small part for a better understanding – You see the result… Always chain 1, one SC, chain 1, 1 SC… Same as the last row, you have to change the yarn at the end of the row So start the last sc, don’ finish, cut the yarn 5 cm lower, take the white colour again (let out of 5 cm of yarn) Finish the last Single Crochet with the white colour Chain 3 and turn Your chain of 3 is your first Double Crochet A second DC, oh sorry I forgot something It’s not chain 3 but chain 4 and after another DC in the last 1st STitch of the last row Chain 1, skip a stitch, 1 DC Chain 1, skip a stitch, 1 DC And the same till the end of the row (Chain 1, skip a stitch, 1 DC) And we’ll finish the same as the lasts rows…. Its very simple and always the same. You have to change the yarn every rows ( one colour, white colour) You have a beautiful result chain 1….. At the end of the row : 1 DC under the last SC of the last row Start the DC, don’t finish, cut the yarn, take another color and finish the DC Always keep 5 centimeters of yarn before to start. This will allow us to make fringes later Chain 2 and turn Last row : Single Crochet 1 SC, chain 1, 1 SC, chain 1……. As you can see, it’s very simple I’ll show you another blanket I’ve done before and which is already well advanced This is the result you get …. I’m at the end of a row, I start a DC, I have already cut the new colour, change the yarn and finish the DC Chain 2 and turn Do the same till you have the lengh you want. You can do this blanket for a baby, as a plaid… It’s really very soft, very cosy, very nice to realise, you can take all the colours you want It’s a very good project for beginners… Continue until you have the correct height It’s really nice ….. It really makes a great effect When you have finished, we’ll finish the sides in a clean and solid way So take 3 or 4 strands of the yarn at the end of the rows and make a knot Try to do something nice, and repeat … Take 3 or 4 thread of wool an tie a knot….. at the base Do this over the entire height on both sides That’s the result ! When all is finished you just have to equalize the yarn. Take your scisors and cut carefully…. Do both sides and enjoy ! Your blanket is finished now, it’s quick, easy to make and very softy Thank you guys for watching, if you liked this video please give it a thumb up !
