Tunisian Knit Stitch

The Tunisian Knit Stitch is my favorite stitch of them all and I like it because it looks like knitting completely without having to use two hook or knitting needles. So in simple stitch what we’ve been doing is that we’ve been going across into the vertical bar and out the other side and picking up the yarn pulling up. This case what we want to do is that we want to look at the stitch and do you see that it has a front uh, vertical and a back one? So my goal here for the knit stitch and you won’t see it for a couple rows is that it’s going to turn that so it looks like it’s actually knitting. So you instead of going across and through to the front you want to go in and right to the back side of the project and then yarning up and pulling it through. Okay, so there it’s the next one you see it so you just wanna go through right to the back. So you’re going right in the middle of this stitch. So you can see the gapping spaces in between that’s a different stitch completely. In this case you just wanna split those legs of the stitch and go right to the back and pull it up. And you wanna do that all the way across. This is the Tunisian Knit Stitch. Tunisian knit stitch cannot be mixed with Tunisian um, simple stitch or most of other things. Tunisian knit stitch really compresses the sample. So it really will drag it in. So after a few rows of this you’ll see that the sample will start sucking in so the tension is completely different when you do a knit stitch. So I’m gonna come to the last one. So just turning it and getting the last one that looks like a regular stitch, pulling it through and now we’re gonna return pass. So like anything we’re gonna just build up one. So just chain up one and then coming back so go through two and twos all the way back and I’ll show you one more row of the Tunisian Knit Stitch and you will see that in the next row you’ll really see the effects of what this will look like. So, okay, so let’s go into the next one. So you see it looks already different but it’s not quite the, quite there yet. So the next one here coming in split the legs of the stitch go into the back side pull through and then keep doing that all the way across. I love this stitch. Now it does take longer to make a project when you’re using the knit stitch because um, it’s more compressed but the effects of what it will look like you can tell somebody literally knitted something because that’s what exactly what it looks like and the other side looks exactly like the back would of knitting. So remember on the end just turning it so that getting two, pull through and then pull through one to build and then twos all the way back. So after a few more rows of this you would really start to see a suck in a bit and have its tension and that would be the Tunisian Knit Stitch. So you see it looks completely different and it’s really quite awesome. So that would be the Tunisian Knit Stitch. 🧶
