  • do you have a pattern for this video? i know you have a pattern for Popcorn Flower Crochet Granny Square and Hazy Day Crochet Square

  • ya it's a simple and nice project. an old and common for me but i love your technique how you made it. i learned another pracrical way and thank you very much! Keep ii up and God bless you!

  • It may not be if you have never done crochet before. If that is the case, I recommend becoming familiar with the basic crochet stitches. I can send you a playlist if you need it.

  • I am a knitter of only 10 years now , I have knitted shawls, hats, dishcloths, socks, sweaters, teddy bears, jackets, felted purses and socks and slippers and now I want to expand my craft and love of yarn to crocheting . I was shown the very basics as a small child so I do have the understanding of holding the hook making the chain and turning but that's about it. I have tons of acrylic yarn left over and would like to make a granny square blanket. Thanks for your wonderful videos

  • Can you show how to do a hexagon? I tried other videos by others m got kinda confused and my hexagon ended up floppy and bunched together so the edges were laying on each other instead of straight/flat. I tried making it bigger thinking it would straighten/flatten out but it just got worse n worse..ugh!

  • Oh and I love this granny square! I tried others videos n written patterns and I always ended up with a noticeable area that I started at. This pattern makes it so it is not noticeable. .and is sooooo simple. I been making granny squares like the nutty squirrel from hoodwinked. ..lol

  • Could you please make a quick video showing how you specifically hold your yarn and hook in your fingers! It looks to bring you great precision and very consistent chains! I am having troubles holding my yarn – I have been doing the yarn over my index and pinky finger.

  • This is a really good tutorial – very thorough which I like. But I'm still having the same problem I *always* have with granny squares is that they end up warping and looking more like crocheted cups rather than squares. What am I doing wrong?

  • It sounds like the increase stitches are being missed if it is cupping up. Go back and look at the increase corners to see if that is part of the warping. Thank you for watching. 🙂

  • Thanks for the reply 🙂 I'm frantically crocheting a bunny hat in time for a baby shower, but once I'm done with that I'll check my corners. Keep up the good work.

  • After watching over 10 videos you are the only person to slow down and explain how to step up a row properly!!! Thank heavens for you. I was about to lose it!! 🙂

  • Thanks so Much. A friend taught me to work a round then to basically like yours, but you explained it so much better and now I am on my way! Now I will make all kinds of granny squares and then find a place to teach me how to join them, I have seen it done before, doesn't look too hard! New to the granny square so this was the BEST video out there, THANKS BUNCHES!

  • The way you do your granny square is different from what I've seen so far.  I like yours.  You don't need to do any slip stitches to go to the next space.  I will keep practicing your method until I get it right.  Thank you for this tutorial.  I appreciate you.  :))

  • I LOVE how you slow things down. I am originally a knitter, and am learning how to crochet via YouTube. This is incredibly helpful! Thank you!

  • Hi! I am trying to make a seated sling type carrier using this granny square for the back & seat, only after 11 rows I am realizing that I will need to make a rectangle version for the seat that will easily hold my son. Granted he's only 6wks old right now, I am making this to use during the hot summer & fall months. I'm in the process of deciding where to place the strap for the sling, I'm leaning more towards 1 strap that separates into 3 attachment points (top where the shoulders are, middle/seat area where both grannys meet, & bottom where the legs are. There is no pattern for it & I was wondering if you could help me & any other Mama who is wanting to make a sling like this by making a tutorial. I'm looking to be able to carry my son in it until he's like 30lbs or so. So I'm hoping to get a year or so out of it with him since he was 10lbs 1oz at birth & use it for my next baby. Thank you Ms. Theresa!!!

  • Yea!!  I made my first granny square ever!!  Thank you so much for this tutorial and your patience in going slow for us beginners.   This is a terrific tutorial.  Thanks for sharing…..Angie

  • hi – great fun and a fantastic translation of each step – I am a beginner with crochet hook – thanks 🙂 greetings

  • My Mom taught me how to crochet when I was little, I'm 43 now and she has passed away 2 yrs ago. I've watched about 5 different videos on how to make granny squares ( which I just keep going) and make a blanket. But your video is the only one close to how my Mom did it and taught me. I will keep practicing your method as I think its the easiest to learn. Thank You so much for the patience and slow motion 🙂

  • @Preety muhun Making a tablecloth will be the similar as making a blanket.  If you are using smaller thread, you will be work a lot more squares.  To make attaching easier, you may want to work a round of chain loops instead of sewing the squares together.

  • hi
I am enjoying your tutorials.so far I have made a blanket and a beanie…that's aussie for hat…today I am starting granny squares! I was wondering if you have tutorials for cookie monster beanie and a minion beanie…please..xo

  • great tutorial. I can't wait getting stuck into my granny square blanket kit that has just arrived. I haven't made a granny square since primary school. Your tutorial had it all coming back to me with ease!

  • What kind of yarn and size could make a soft scarf? Also, I'd like to know the size of hook to use. Do u can a chart you can sharethat says a specific hook size for a specific yarn size? Thanks.

  • hi if u don't mind me asking how wld u change colors? i'm doing my Christmas gifts early this year and I was gonna have this kind of blanket red and green.

  • I am currently taking a beginner class/refresher class…I learned how to crochet years ago taught by my grandmother.  I have a lady in our class who really wants to learn how to do a granny square and I told her that I would help her.  I am going to share your videos (specifically this one) in class on Monday!  Love that you have a slow motion portion so we can see what it looks like! Thank you!!

  • I get confused around 5:21, you say you're going to work 3 dc, chain 2, 3 dc and do it in slow motion. Then it starts and I watch you do 3 dc, chain 1, 3 dc, chain 2, 3 dc. then it goes back to normal speed. Am I missing something? why is it showing an extra 3 dc? This is my first time trying a granny square and I've watched the slow motion part about 5 times now trying to figure it out and I can't! Otherwise I like the video!

  •  I have trouble seeing where the needle/hook goes in to make the double crochet stitch—into what part of the chain stitch do you make the double crochet?  (I hope my question makes sense).  Thanks for doing the videos

  • Could someone tell or show me how to connect the granny squares?? I have asked Teresa (Crochet Geek) several times, but she will not answer me. Thanks.

  • after you finish each round you might want to show the viewer what it supposed to look like, that way if we messed up we can fix it before we go too far…less frustration. Thank you for your help!

  • I keep trying but I'm kinda in slow motion I wake up happy good start but then my memory gets distracted I can't hear you but I won't stop cause it's relaxing thanks this is the best video off all .

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to show others this awesome hobby. Do you have tutorials on how to make letters?

  • I have a dumb question: I'm trying to find out how much yarn I will need for a standard afghan for my husband. I don't know how to read patterns that why I have come to YouTube to learn how to crochet. I also have tried to find out how many squares there are on average? If you can help me or point me in the right direction that would be great! Thank You!

  • I've been struggling to find an absolute beginners Granny Square tutorial, I'm so happy how you've explained all of the stiches in slo-mo, so helpful!

  • Me encantó,tiene las cadenas adecuadas, para obtener el cuadrado perfecto de vieja América y la terminación perfecta.Muchas gracias desde Perú

  • Thank you for this clear and concise tutorial. This is the best method I’ve seen for ending and starting a round. I really like your improved method of chain one, then using one single crochet to close the (corner) round. Also, continuing with a chain one, then starting the next round with three double crochet. At first I put those three dc in the wrong hole. I took that out, and put them in the other hole. Magnificent outcome by not closing and beginning a new round with a chain 3 or 4. That is too visible, your method is “seamless”. Thank you!!

  • Que. Magnífica y excelente clase de tejodo una y mil felicidades no de ingles pero con subtitulo de español me parece excelente muchas gracias y felicitaciones por su excelente tutorial

  • My very first crochet teacher… I would say virtual teacher… Learned basics from you. I really want to thank you for such an amazing tutor. Thank you so much
