Hi, I’m Laura Lee. I love when it starts to
get cold outside as winter approaches. It’s such a great time for yarn projects. Whether
you’re making something for your home decor or making a gift for a friend, we’ve got some
great crochet ideas for you today. This chunky lap blanket really is as soft as it looks.
To get the oversized effect, we used Loops and Threads Chunky Yarn and an oversized crochet
hook. It looks like it would take a long time but it’s really just a large granny square.
This is an example of the granny square pattern, made with a small yarn and hook. These fingerless
gloves make a great gift. They’re made in flat rows and stitched along the side to turn
them in to gloves. I love this Isaac Mizrahi yarn because it has the metallic thread that
runs right through it. Both of these gloves were made with less than one skein. This pie
carrier is so handy. The handles make it easy to carry and the bottom is made with jute
twine so if you’re carrying hot pies this holiday season, it will protect your surfaces.
This is made with less than one package of jute twine and one skein of Lily Sugar ‘n
Cream. This is 100% cotton so it’s great for kitchen projects. This mug cozy also makes
a great gift. It’s easy to crochet so you can make one for all of your friends. I love
this bright green Loops and Threads Impeccable Yarn. The pattern is very simple and great
for beginners. Want to add a pop to your Christmas tree? This tree skirt has LED lights worked
into the outer edge. The lights are covered in soft mesh so it’s easy to crochet into
the skirt. We used ten skeins of Loops and Threads Cozy Wool Yarn. Crocheting is such
a great way to get in to the holiday spirit. You can find all of these patterns on Michaels.com.
