Easy Crochet Scarf | Bag O Day Free Crochet Tutorial #669 Subtitles Available

hi everybody its Crystal’s so today I’m
gonna show you how to make this scarf here and it’s made with the triangle
stitch it’s not a hard stitch as long as you
can do if you’re a beginner stitches as long as you can do the basic stitches like
chains single half double double you know what I’ll show you how to do
the rest you’ll be able to do it by following me
but I think it turned out really pretty now you can always make yours wider and
longer I’ll tell you the multiple but mine measures about sixty inches long
and it’s right at five inches wide but it’s you know more rows make it wider
longer chain to make it longer so what do you say I know you can do it turned
out beautiful let’s go and get started on this okay
for this project I used a red heart Super Saver ombre it is a medium weight
number for 100% acrylic yarn of course you don’t have to use this yarn any
medium weight yarn will work medium number for weight yarn will work the
color I have here is called deep teal and there’s four hundred and eighty two
yards per skein this was whole so I think you’re gonna need about 375 yards
probably that’s 350 375 be sure yards to do this scarf of any medium weight four
yards and then I’m going to be using a size J which is a six millimeter crochet
hook okay so the triangle stitch is done and a multiple of two so you can make
yours longer if you want now if you want to start with the chainless single
crochet foundation stitch I think that’s what it is I don’t ever use that you can
it will work but if you want to follow along with me
I started out I’m going to show you on a smaller scale with a chain of 210
so once you get your chain of 210 made what we’re going to do is we are going
to do a single crochet and the second stitch from the hook now remember we
never count the one that’s on our hook so one two in that second stitch we’re
going to do a single crochet and now we’re going to work one single crochet
in every stitch for the length of our chain it’s like that so one single and every
stitch until we get to the end of Row one alright once you make it to the end
of Row one you should have a total of 209 stitches now we’re going to start
row 2 rows 2 & 3 are the repeat rows for the scarf so for Row 2 we are going to
chain 1 and turn our work and we are going to start with a double crochet
right here in this very very first stitch here so we’re going to go ahead
and work a double crochet into that stitch and then we’re going to chain 1
now we’re gonna work our triangles so we’re going to be doing 3 half double
crochets together so we’re going to yarn over and we’re going to go into the next
stitch and draw up a loop then we’re going to yarn over and go into the next
stitch and drop a loop and we’re going to yarn over one more time and go into
the next stitch and drop a loop like that you’re going to have 7 loops on
your hook we’re going to yarn over and go through the first six
loops so it’s gonna be all of them but one like that and you have two loops on
your hook then we’re going to yarn over and go through those two loops and then
we’re going to chain one now we’re going to start and if we’re gonna do another
triangle so from now on we’re going to start our triangles in the last stitch
that we worked so here was the last stitch that this triangle went into
that’s where we’re gonna start our next triangle so we’re going to yarn over go
into that last that stitch that last stitch that was worked and draw up a
loop we’re going to yarn over and go into the next stitch and drop a loop
and then we’re going to yarn over and go into the next stitch and draw up a loop we
have seven loops on our hook we want to yarn over and go through the first six
so that’s all of them by one stop then we’re going to yarn over and go through
the two remaining loops and chain one like that and that’s kind of what we’re
gonna repeat so we’re gonna start our next triangle in the same stitch as the
last spot of the last triangle so we’re going to yarn over go into that stitch
that the last stitch that was worked from the last triangle draw up a loop
yarn over go into the next stitch draw up a loop yarn over and go into the next
stitch draw up a loop seven loops yarn over and go through all six so all of
them but one got two on your hook yarn over and go through those two and chain
one so every triangle starts in the stitch that was worked from the last
triangle except for the first one it’s on its own on every row so again we’re
gonna do another triangle we’re going to yarn over and go into the same stitch as
our last triangle which worked in draw up a loop yarn over go into the next
stitch drop a loop and yarn over and go into the next stitch drop a loop seven
loops yarn over and go through six of them that remain yarn over and go through
those two and then chain one so that’s what we’re going to is repeat until we get
to the end of our row so again we’re going to do another triangle so we’re
going to yarn over and go into the same stitch that’s our last triangle draw up
a loop yarn over go into the next stitch drop a loop and one more time yarn over
and go into the next stitch drop a loop seven loops your honor go go through six
of them and you’ll have two loops that remain yarn over go through those two
and chain one so we’re gonna go ahead and repeat this until we get to our last
stitch all right I just did my last triangle and I chained one I have one
stitch left I’m going to go ahead and double crochet into the last stitch and
you should have 103 triangles now at the end of Row two Row three we are going to
chain one and turn our work now we are going to put a single crochet right
there into that very very top of that very very first stitch so right here and
now we want to put a single crochet into every chain one space so right here
right through the space and on top of every triangle stitch here so right on
top of this stitch and then in the next chain one space and on top of the next
triangle chain one space just go right through this face and the next triangle
so we’re going to do continue this single crochet and every chain one space
and on top of every triangle until we get to the end of our row all right once you make it to the end of
Row three there’s gonna go ahead and there was a chain one space there I did
my single crochet my last triangle the last chain one space and then I’m gonna
single crochet into the last double crochet here on the end and you should
have a total of 209 stitches again now it’s just a repeat of rows two and three
so for row four I’m going to chain one and turn and I’m going to repeat what I
did on row two which was the triangle stitch row so I started off by double
crochet into the very very first stitch and then I chained one now remember the
first triangle is worked over these three stitches we don’t go back into
this very first one it’s one two three so yarn over go into this next stitch
and draw up a loop yarn over and go into the next stitch draw up a loop and yarn
over and go into the next stitch and draw up a loop seven loops yarn over and
go through six of them that’ll leave you two loops left yarn over and go through
those two and chain one now we’re gonna start doing our triangles where the
first part of it starts in the stitch as the last part of this triangle like
before just like Row two so we’re going to yarn over go into this last work
stitched stitch from this triangle and draw up a loop yarn over and go into the
next stitch draw up a loop and yarn over and go into the next stitch drop the
loop seven loops yarn over go through all six to remain yarn over and go
through those two and chain one and I’m going to keep repeating that so I’m just
going to keep repeating rows two and three until I get it the length or the
width that I want it to be you’ll always have 103 triangles on your triangle rule
and you always have 209 stitches on your single crochet row now I always check
every so often to make sure my triangles are staying lined up and they are if
they start to get kind of not lined up that means that you probably missed a
stitch somewhere that happened to me a couple times I had to pull it out but
just continue repeating rows two and three until you get it the width that
you want it to be alright I went ahead and I have done a total of 11 rows
that’s counting each single crochet row in each triangle row is a total of 11 so
my last row up here was a row a single crochet now mine’s not huge my it’s
about 5 inches you can make yours thicker if you want it’s completely up
to you so 11 rows total or 1 2 3 4 5 rows of the triangles so I did after
that and I went ahead and clipped off my yarn there at the end of that last
single crochet now I’m going to do one more row at the bottom of single crochet
now you can choose either side to be your right side of your work whichever
one you like best I’m gonna make the right side of my work
how it is now so I just clipped off and I have have not turned to my work what I
want to do I’m not gonna turn it over I’m going to turn it upside down like
this so the right side of my work is still facing me the right side being
where the single crochets are facing right side up
so now my work is here here’s my starting tail here’s my finishing tail
I’m going to start right up here and I’m just going to go along the bottom
working single crochets so I’m going to start in that very first stitch and I’m
gonna pull my yarn through I’m going to try to hide them tails as I go so I’m
going to start with a chain one now I’m gonna go back into that same stitch
there and single crochet and I’m going to hide those tails as I
go and I’m just going to work one single crochet in every stitch across the
bottom just to clean up that bottom edge of course if you use the FSC at the
beginning where I said you could use the chainless single crochet foundation if
you use that you probably won’t need to do this but I don’t even use that so I’m
just cleaning up this bottom edge with one single crochet in every stitch until
I get to the end of the row so it just makes it look a little neater there at
the bottom alright once you make it to the end here you should have your two
hundred and nine stitches still gonna go ahead and click that off and now what
I’m going to do is hide any remaining at tails that I have so I’m gonna go in
it’s so in all my tails alright once you get your tails sewed in that’s it that’s
all there is to it it turned out pretty good that’s all yours really really
pretty so thanks everybody for watching don’t
