  • So, I have a confession. I'm just watching the behind the scene of crochet crowd.๐Ÿ™‚ and thank you! I needed to laugh. Im the only one who crochets in my family and I keep getting picked on cause of my LOVE OF YARN! THEY DONT UNDERSTAND ME. When I go into Joann's they get edgy. I only buy whats on sale. Well, mostly. And I only go 1x a month. How do I beat in, I mean explain, to them , how important yarn is? My email is moryarnplz63…. isn't that a hint? A male member of my family actually said wouldnt it be cheaper to buy it?( insert any item crocheted). Thank you for understanding the need for yarn

  • Get the free pattern shown here at https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-calico-flowers-scarf-tutorial/ There are 1 full motif and 19 half motifs in this scarf.

  • Ps: I also need a politocally correct way to say " Damn straight I NEED TO CARRY PROJECTS WITH ME EVERYWHERE! Get over it." Apparently, that way isnt correct. And I keep getting asked why I have 3 projects going at once. On the upside. If you like beautiful instrumental music, there's a man called Tim Janis who also puts his music to videos. He has just piano music on a few videos. The other day I was going through patterns while listening to his music and I felt in heaven. Hes on youtube also

  • I like the uniqueness of this scarf. I may add a step on the additional motifs so that all the solid rows of trebles are facing on the same side as the original motif. Thank you and have an awesome day!๐ŸŒน

  • Printed pattern and saved video to my playlist now must go to Michaels or I might order online, thanks Michael for all your inspiration, you keep me busy and out of trouble

  • This one has tempted me and as we are now in Autumn it will be ideal for our colder weather. Thanks Mikey ๐Ÿจ๐Ÿจ

  • Thank you hope you keep on explaining for beginners mainly the pattern clearly before any start …mashaallah your work is perfect …

  • I have this pattern but it is for a baby blanket. You crochet 6 strips and join them, but I was never able to decipher the instructions for the joining. Maybe this will help. Thanks

  • This is the first time since watching your vids that I realized where your studio is located. I attended Acadia way back in the day. Love the valley. I'm in NL now but hopefully will get to visit the valley again some day when I begin an RV journey around the country including visits to yarny locations!

  • I have self taught myself how to crochet with your help Mikey and I thank you for all of your lessons. This is a beautiful pattern and once you get the rhythm of it it is quite easy. Thanks again good sir!!

  • I also have to say, you are the best teacher ever!! I've learned so much from your videos, I've been able to follow every video of yours so far!! Thank you again!!

  • Thank you so much for this. I had attempted the written instructions and it was only after watching you that I realised quite a lot of instructions were missing, in particular the slip stitches. Thank you for saving my sanity!

  • In one of your videos would you show the alligator scales stitches I'm crocheting a mermaid tail blanket and I'm having trouble doing it

  • Thank you so much for doing this video! As soon as I saw the tutorial I went out and bought the yarn. I just finished this project, it wasnโ€™t as complicated as it looks since youโ€™re a wonderful teacher! Thank you again! On a side note Iโ€™ve had people asking me to make them one to purchase, are you okay with this?

  • why do you need to slip stitch with going from the first circle to the second section, can't you just start where you are from the first circle??

  • The written pattern is soooo wrong! After a few failed attempts and "tearful" frogging, I went through your video and wrote down YOUR instructions for the half motif noting the time stamp for each. My project is now finally looking awesome! Thanks!

  • I really like do crochet you make it so easy to do. I done lot of crochet stuff with you. I love you please keep crochet.

  • Attempting this. Using your video because the pattern is badly written. It is missing steps on the half-motif section. Is there any way to contact them to tell them about it so they can fix it? Well done with the video. I am also doing the Social Textures blanket from you guys.

  • After listening to your actual video tutorial, the pattern became clear, my oh my, thank you. The written pattern and diagram were confusing and lacking.
Working on the motifs, then the border. Thank you so much.

  • I'm in awe. You are amazing at teaching this. I've learned a lot with you, Michael. Thank you so much!!

  • The printed chart for the scarf shows a difference in the 'second' half motif – in one picture the beggining half loop chain four joins to the sixth treble of the previous round. In the picture with the edging it joins to the end 7th treble. I don't understand if this is a mistake or how the half motifs 'travel' once it gets longer thanf the diagram shown. I've decided to just be consistent to what I've done so far and know that when it's done it will look fancy.

TL:DR if it were up to me alone I'd get frustrated with the pattern and give up but video tutorials such as this have taught me to just have fun with it! Thanks Mikey and Yarnsiprations – even though your pattern bewilders me!

  • I am following your video and following the diagram at the same time and the video does not match the pattern. What should we follow you or the pattern?

  • Thank you for explaining in such detail in your videos. I'm going to try making this scarf soon it will be great for Christmas gifts!

  • Mikey, I just started working on the scarf and see there is a difference between your video and the written instructions on the 1st row of the half-motif. After the sl St of the 15 TR it says to turn. You, however ch 3, sk 3 and sl st into 4th trc. I am going to add that step on the instructions and follow you. Just asking if I'm ok with that. If so, maybe it'll help others. Thank you, Mikey.

  • I usually enjoy these patterns and the video to go along with but im having a really hard time with the first half motif theres so many differences between the pattern and video im not sure which to follow very confused atm!๐Ÿ˜•

  • Thank you for this tutorial. I just finished making this and is going to be a present for my sister-in-law ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I notice you have a second diagram in this tutorial, but in our pdf we only have the one that is used in the beginning with the symbols. Is there another to print out? I would like to have it for my file. Thanks, I love this scarf pattern!

  • I don't know if I missed it but I couldn't find the brand of yarn you used in the second half in the grey color after using the pink?? I LOVE this design Michael!! <3

  • Gosh, your explaining is so good.
Showing a diagram of pattern is so helpful.
Itโ€™s also must be be, a simple drawing.

  • Just stuck to the vid tutorial.. couldn't work out where I was going wrong with written pattern. 2nd row of half motif :chain 3 and Sl St to 3rd treble omitted

  • Thank you again, Mikey for coming to the rescue! They had the yarn on sale and I thought the picture on the label was lovely. When I looked at the diagram and instructions I thought, "I'm so lost. I'm not going to be able to make this." Then I thought, "Let me see if there is YouTube tutorial for this," and sure enough you were at the top of the list! I'm off to a great start and I can't wait to finish (and wear) it.

  • Hi Mickey, thank you for the tutorial but I have some questions. I'm looking at the written pattern trying to follow along with you and I dont see after the 1st row of the half motif where we are supposed to (chain3 sk 3 sl st ch3 again before we start row 2 of the chain6) [the joins].also the pattern class to do ch6 sk 1 sc 7x but you only do it 6x. I'm so confused and I'm not sure if it's the written pattern or not please help me understand.
